WHS Art Department recently competed in the Winnsboro Center for the Art High School Art Competition. A huge congratulations to Ben Woods for winning one of the 2 'Excellence in Fine Art' awards with a prize of $200 and Addison Burnet for winning the 'Best Use of Media' award with a prize of $100.
16 area school districts participated in the competition, as well as homeschool students, with only 50 art pieces being chosen for display. Winnsboro had 2 of the 10 pieces chosen for awards!

We are incredibly proud of our High School Career Preparation students for participating in their mock interviews this week! It's amazing to see how far they've come, and we are so thankful for all the local businesses and professionals who volunteered their time to conduct the interviews and help our students prepare for the future.

As a reminder, only service animals are allowed on school property, and verification may be necessary. Thank you!

During a recent WISD School Board meeting, the WISD Board of Trustees voted to allow the adoption of the new Guardian Program. The program allows certain district employees, who have passed a series of requirements, to be armed on campus. Officials say the program does not replace the school resource officer and existing campus safety protocols. Signs are being posted at each campus regarding our staff members being armed to protect students and staff. Members of the program have been trained to meet all state requirements to be in the program. The identities of the Guardians will remain anonymous. The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority.
