Equipment was delivered to WHS this week as part of the Texas Workforce Commission Jobs & Education for Texans grant awarded to WHS this year.
As a school district, we had to identify a "Target Occupation" that is a high-growth, high-demand, and emerging occupation based on a list provided by the local Workforce Development Board. WISD chose the " Welders, Cutters, Solderers, and Brazers" category. In addition, WISD partnered with Northeast Texas Community College to allow the students trained on the new equipment to get certified in these areas.
The metal is going up on the new Meat Lab!!
