Winnsboro Rugged Red Football is asking for your partnership in broadcasting services for the 2023 football season. All WHS Varsity Football games (home and away) will be broadcast on Meridix.com. Your partnership will include advertising on each of the 9 remaining regular season games and any playoff live broadcasts. WISD would like to honor our local first responders before this Friday's Red Raider Football game. Please join us for a meal in your honor at 5:30 p.m. Friday, September 1 at the WHS cafeteria. All first responders will also be honored on the field before the start of the game.

The school spirit was off the charts as our community came together to show unwavering support for our incredible school and all the talented participants of Friday Night Lights. Our Winnsboro Band had us on our feet with their fantastic tunes that echoed through the stadium, creating an atmosphere that was absolutely electric! And let's not forget our phenomenal cheerleaders who added an extra dose of energy to the game with their spirited routines and contagious enthusiasm! Our football team, you were nothing short of extraordinary! Your dedication, teamwork, and grit on the field was truly commendable. You make us proud with your hard work and sportsmanship, representing Winnsboro ISD with true Raider Pride! A shout-out to our athletic trainers who tirelessly worked behind the scenes to ensure the safety and well-being of our players. Your commitment to their health does not go unnoticed and is deeply appreciated! And let's not forget the Raiderettes, who added that touch of elegance and skill to the halftime show, captivating the audience with their exceptional performance! But the energy and excitement didn't end there – our amazing student section was a sight to behold! The sea of red and the roaring cheers from our students were infectious, and they played a huge role in creating an unforgettable atmosphere that pumped up our players and energized the whole stadium! Recently, Winnsboro Independent School District has been awarded a Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) grant in the amount of $206,432 by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). The grant was used to purchase equipment to expand the career and technical education programs for our Winnsboro High School Students. The district used the grant to purchase welders, cutters, solderers and brazers for Winnsboro High School. The equipment arrived this summer and students will begin being trained this school-year. The equipment will allow students to earn certifications in welding and various machinery through Northeast Texas Community College. These certifications will encourage employability for the students after high school. WISD applied for the grant in the summer of 2022 with guidance from Dr. Pam Gambrel, WISD grant specialist. The extensive application process allowed for WISD to partner with community and local workforce commission members to support the district’s efforts to earn the grant. Several letters of support were written by local community members and business owners. Prior to applying for the grant, WISD had to choose a high demand occupation and determine an opportunity to bring training for the occupation to WISD students. It was determined that providing training for a career in welding and machinery would be beneficial for our students. WISD is excited about the opportunity that this grant will provide our students. The JET grant is funded by the Texas Legislature and approved by the governor each biennium. The TWC uses the JET grants to fund start-up costs of developing career and technical education programs for public state and community technical colleges, school districts and open charter schools in the state of Texas.

Winnsboro ISD is offering an optional WHS student device protection plan to protect against damage incurred to the student’s assigned device. Students/Parents/Guardians who do not purchase the WISD Student Technology Device Protection Plan are 100% financially responsible for all repairs and/or replacement. Please enter your student's name when purchasing the ticket for insurance. If you have multiple students please purchase a ticket for each student. Earlier today the Winnsboro Memorial Intermediate campus was placed on a secure lock out due to suspicious activity reported near the campus by WMIS students. Our WISD police and local law enforcement officers responded immediately, secured the area, and determined there was no threat to the safety of our students and staff. The lock out has been lifted and all students and staff are safe.

Show your school spirit and support the Red Raiders! Starting Friday, August 25 your Red Raider Cheerleaders will be selling tattoos at Winnsboro Elementary School and Winnsboro Memorial Intermediate in the morning before school. Tattoos are $.50 each and will be for sale on the following Fridays: Friday, August 25 Friday, September 8 Friday, September 22 Friday, October 20 GO RAIDERS!!!!!

Rugged Red Football Stadium Parking information is below. Fans that are in a wheel chair are encouraged to park in the visitor handicapped parking spaces. However, there are designated handicapped parking spaces on each entrance of the field.
